I spoke to Margot McKinnon, founder and director of Body Harmonics last December. We met for lunch at Faema Caffe, downstairs from Body Harmonics’ flagship location.

Before we talk about Body Harmonics, tell me about being a mother.

I became a mum 2 years ago. And I’ve been running Body Harmonics for 10. We’re actually celebrating our tenth year this year.

Tamar Wagman and Eryn Green, childhood best friends grew up to become business partners. After Tamar started experimenting with making her own baby food for her young son, she and Eryn decided they had an excellent business opportunity and founded Sweetpea Baby Food. We started our discussion with the beginning of their friendship.

We recently spoke to Skylar Hill-Jackson, founder and director of Baby & Me Fitness, which provides fitness classes and discussion sessions for pregnant women and new mothers. Skylar started Baby & Me Fitness in 1987, but she developed and practised the philosophy behind her Toronto-based business even before she became a mother.
